If you’re looking for something fast & cheap there are hundreds of places to shop but if you want something good, really good, it is worth the investment of both your time and money. Handcrafted doesn’t arrive in a flat-pack and unique doesn’t roll off an assembly line. Anything truly well-made requires time and effort, energy and investment.

I’ve been doing woodworking, carpentry and fabrication for more than 20 years, both as a hobby and making the occasional piece for friends and family. Working with my hands and putting in the time to create something I can stand back and be proud of has always been a passion and kind of therapy for me.

It’s been a dream of mine to leave the corporate life behind and open my own furniture business. So when the opportunity arose to take that step and with the encouragement from my wife and close friends, well…. I was kinda out of excuses.

Hummingbear Woodworks is committed to clients’ needs & preferences while providing the highest quality projects. Whether producing a bespoke table or a set of corporate gifts, I won’t cut corners – actually, I’m not really sure I know how to. My grandfather always taught me there is the right way to do a thing, and there is something less. So, don’t settle for less.

So… what’s a HumnmingBear? According to one of my sons, it’s a magical creature only found where we live in Oregon, that’s a cross between a hummingbird and a bear. If you ask me, it’s something born out of love for woodworking and my family.
